Graduation Credit Requirement for college-bound students

It is highly recommended that college-bound students take a minimum of two years of a foreign language. This is the requirement for entrance into most colleges and universities. The Class of 2010 graduated all twenty students and all of them entered college in the fall.

Classroom Grading Policies

1. Academic grades are a reflection of what the student actually knows about a subject, and are not based upon other criteria such as behavior.
2. Final grades are based upon a variety of evaluations.
3. Grades are arrived at in an objective manner whenever possible.
4. Students are told from the beginning of school how they will be graded.
5. The following principles are considered when weighting a final grade:
a. No single assignment is weighted so heavily that a student will not pass the class if he or she fails it. Possible exceptions may be made for a major project completed over the course of a quarter or semester (state report, science research paper, etc.).
b. Objective means should have more weight than subjective means.
c. Tests typically receive more weight than quizzes.

Grading Scale

LCS uses the following grade scales for assignments, test, quizzes, and projects that receive letter grades:

A+ 98-100A 93-97A- 90-92
