He came on as elementary principal fulltime in 1998 and is now serving as the K-12 superintendent. Mr. Newbry holds a B.A. in History and Political Science from UCLA and a Masters of education from Lesley University.

Mr. Newbry has been instrumental in the accreditation process of LCS which was awarded in June of 2006. He has coached football and basketball mainly at the middle school level. His wife Melody works in the school’s front office and their only son Seth graduated in 2011.

Mr. Newbry is also the children’s pastor at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, which brings a consistent spiritual influence and allows for positive relations between the church and school.

A little about our school

LCS began in 1995 with 12 students. In 15 years we have grown to over 300 students with classes from K-3 through 12th grade.

In 2008, the school relocated to our new campus at 960 Eastland Dr. in Twin Falls. Our new building gives us ample room for our entire student body, including a state-of-the-art athletic field, playground facilities, and larger classrooms. In the summer of 2009, four additional classrooms were built.

We are fully accredited with ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) and NWAC (Northwest Association of Accredited Schools), the State of Idaho, and are involved in student activities such as: Speech Meet, Science Fair, Art Festival, Yearbook competition, and hosting the district Spelling Bee.

Our curriculum is Biblically integrated. We primarily use Abeka, Bob Jones, ACSI, Shurley English and Saxon (math).

A spiritual focus is our priority at Lighthouse. Each class has daily Bible study, and the whole school meets for chapel on Wednesdays or Fridays. Our chapels include special times of worship and the study of God’s Word, the Bible. Our middle/high school worship team leads worship for 6th-12th grades.
